Crown Lengthening – Supporting Gum Health and Oral Function

Crown lengthening is a dental procedure used to improve gum health or to prepare teeth for restorative or cosmetic treatments.

The procedure can also address a “gummy” smile, where excessive gum tissue covers the teeth. By reshaping or recontouring the gum and, if needed, the underlying bone tissue, more of the natural tooth is exposed.

Crown lengthening may be performed on a single tooth, multiple teeth, or across the entire gum line, supporting oral function and helping to maintain a balanced, healthy appearance of teeth and gums.

Outcomes are individual and may vary according to each patient’s circumstances.
